Getting Started
1. As the vocalist, pick out one or two songs from the song list.2. Use the sign-up form to join the queue. Enter your band name and the names of any people playing with you. If you don’t have a band, don’t worry – one will be gathered for you.3. Kick back and relax, the hosts will call bands one-by-one. When it’s your turn, give it all you got!
Are you left-handed?
Let the crew know so that we can enable Lefty Flip for you!
How to Play Vocals
Lyrics and pitch guides will scroll across the screen. Blue lines are the lead singer, while orange and amber lines are for the harmonies.
Get up close and personal with the microphone - your mouth should be about 5cm from the mic to make you sound nice and clear! Vocals at Rock Band Karaoke are not scored, so don't worry about points. Get up there, sing your heart out, and get the crowd going.
How to Play Guitar/Bass
Notes will come down the highway in time with the guitar or bass track. Press down the matching-coloured fret buttons on your guitar, then strum when it crosses the strike line to play the note.Remember: you can hold the button in advance. Just like with a real guitar, the strum makes the sound!
How to Play Drums
Notes will come down the highway in time with the drum track. Use the sticks to hit the centre of the matching-coloured drum pad once the note crosses the strike line. Try to avoid hitting the rims – aim for the centre.Orange lines are kick notes. Press down on the kick pedal with your foot to hit these. If you lose the rhythm, listen to the music and try to hit in time with the beat!
How to Play Keys
Notes will come down the highway in time with the music. Press the keys of the matching colour when the notes cross the strike line to earn points.
Standard keys use only five keys. If you've got five fingers, use them all to make things easier (yes, that includes your thumb!)
In Pro Keys mode, the full range of the keyboard is used. Use the colour guides onscreen to check where your hand should be.
